Cooking , most of us think it is a mundane and boring work . It becomes very monotonous, if we are on to the same set up and to the same routine. We can make it more interesting just by doing the following tips.
First and foremost thing is to make the kitchen well lit and vantilated. Always, keep the windows open. Don’t fix too bright lights, as it might irritate you, when you will have to work long hours.
Cover your shelves with bright colour papers with floral designs. Don’t forget to put the cockroach paper under these colour papers.
Don’t store the unnecessary things in your kitchen. Try to have a separate storage place for all the extra vessels and groceries.
Minimize the usage of the vessels, so that you will not be tired of seeing mountains of vessels for washing.
Plan well before you start cooking. Keep the ingredients, vegetables and other required things ready before you start cooking. This helps you to relax when you cook.
When you are hosting guests for lunch or dinner, do your planning in advance. Don’t explore any new recipe for the guests. Try to cook the dishes that you are very confident and comfortable about. If you have no helping hand, avoid the items that would require to prepare during the serving time. Do not expect the guests to lend a helping hand.
Try to find out the guests choices of food and prepare accordingly. Some may not be interested in Western or Continental. Some may not be interested in North Indian. Hence do not waste your efforts.
Consider the age and the medical problems of your guests. Though it is a customary practice to have a sweet or dessert after the food, but if you are aware of their medical problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart problem etc.., try to have cut fruits as dessert.
Your don't over hospitalise, and dis comfort your guests. Do not get dis appointed, if your guests do not enjoy the food, that you cooked the most with interest. You explain the guests of the item's specaility, and let them vouch it.
When the guests come with small children, engage them with small toys and games. Do not be hesitant to tell them not to touch the expensive items.
Do not talk for a long time over the phone while you cook. You may strain your neck instead, listen to radio and relax.
Have a separate and comfortable night courts for cooking. After cooking, have a face wash and change on to another dress.
Try to clean the shelves once in a month. Finally, don’t be too obsessed about cooking and cleaning. Also do not be too particular about things. Try to be flexible.
Check out your storage items, now and then and make a list of the necessary items.
Do not cook excessly for your guests.
Finally, enjoy cooking. The old saying is ‘ to reach man’s heart is only through his stomach’, could be true. Eating together with all the family members could be one of the best sharing time and of course with a tasty food it is even more enjoyable.
